College of Veterinary Science, Hyderabad was originally established on 5 August 1946 as a constituent College under Osmania University with the objective of imparting and promoting Veterinary education in the princely state of Hyderabad. Consequent to the formation of the state of Telangana, the Govt. of Telangana has established a separate Veterinary University by the nameP.V. Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University, Hyderabad, the college has been brought under the fold of this new University from Nov 2014. At present, the College is located in a modern building at Rajendranagar and has 18 Departments and offers B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree program, M.V.Sc., and Ph.D. in as many departments. Clinical training is imparted at Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex units located on the campus, in the city of New Boiguda, and the rural hospital located at Mylardevpally, near the campus.

Admission Process

College of Veterinary Science, Hyderabad Veterinary Counseling is conducted by

1 ) Veterinary Council of India (VCI) - Open to all (15%)

The  Veterinary Council of India (VCI) conducts Counseling for allotment of B.V.Sc. & A.H. seats to the NEET UG eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Veterinary Colleges of the country. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by National TestingAgency (NTA) including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The Veterinary Council of India will use the merit list of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG)-2022 (NEET (UG)-2022) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for filling up 15% of seats in the recognized Veterinary Colleges under the All India Quota. Other criteria of selection and admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree course shall be as per Veterinary Council of India - MSVE, Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Regulations, 2016.

RESERVATION OF SEATS (15% Quota 

  • 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates
  • 7.5% of seats are reserved for ST candidates
  • 10% of seats are reserved for EWS candidates
  • 27% of seats are reserved for OBC candidates (Non-Creamy Layer)
  • 5% seats in each category are reserved for Physically Handicapped candidates as defined in physical disability in the MSVE -Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Regulations, 2016 on a horizontal basis.

Counseling for Allotment of 15% VCI Seats

The online counseling for allotment of 15% VCI seats for the academic year 2022-23 will be held in four stages [ Round -1, Round -2, Mop-up Round, and Stray Round]. The counseling will be done based on NEET (UG) 

2022-23 ranking and through the VCI Counseling portal. All banking-related matters will be dealt by the Bank of Baroda. The seat will be allotted in the colleges based on the availability of seats, his/her NEET Rank, and the choice exercised by the candidates subject to fulfillment of other criteria viz. nationality, age, essential qualification, etc. as laid down in this Information Bulletin. 2) P.V. Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University, Hyderabad- State Domicile - 85%

  • The  P.V. Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University, Hyderabadconducts Counseling for the allotment of 85% of B.V.Sc. & A.H. seats. The selection of candidates for all the seats shall be made on the basis of ranks obtained by the candidates in the Telangana State EAMCET-2023 conducted by the Telangana State Council for Higher Education.
  • In case of a tie in ranks obtained by two or more candidates in the Telangana State EAMCET-2023, the marks secured in the optional subjects of the qualifying examination (Intermediate or its equivalent) shall be taken into consideration. In case of a further tie, the age of the candidate shall be taken into consideration and the older candidate shall be given preference.

Age:

  • The candidates for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. course shall be required to have completed 17 years of age with an upper age limit of 25 years for all the candidates, 30 years in respect of BC, SC, ST, and Physically Challenged (PH) candidates as of 31st December of the year of admission.

Reservation of seats for the candidates coming from families of Agriculturist cum Rural Area (Farmers’Quota) in B.V.Sc. & A.H. & B.F.Sc. courses:

  • 25% in PVNRTVU is reserved for candidates coming from families of Agriculturists (Farmers) owning not less than ONE acre of land either in the name of the parents or in the name of the candidates and who have studied for a minimum of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas.
  • If the land is owned by a grandfather, grandmother or guardian or any other relation is not acceptable under the farmer quota.
  • ANNEXURE-I: It is a proforma to be certified by the Head Master of the School with his office seal that the candidate has studied for a minimum period of four years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas during their period of study from 1st class to 12th class / Intermediate (Non-Municipal Area Certificate).
  • ANNEXURE-II: It is a proforma indicating the patta numbers and extent of land owned by the candidate/parents duly certified by the Tahsildar with his office seal (or) the candidate has to upload attested photocopies of patta dar passbook as evidence of the extent of agricultural land.
  • ANNEXURE-I and ANNEXURE-II need to be filled in with the signatures of concerned officials viz., concerned Head of Institution and Tahsildar, respectively, along with the office seal. Otherwise, the claim of the candidates under this category will be summarily rejected.

Reservation of Seats:

The rule of reservation (OC:50%, EWS;10%, BC-A:7%, BC-B;10%,BC-C:1%, BC-D:7%, BC-E:4%,SC:15%, ST:6%) will be followed as per the rules (The rule of reservation in respect of EWS will be followed as per the guidelines issued by the Government of Telangana from time to time).

Reservation of seats for Physically Challenged quota: In the total intake of B.V.Sc.& A.H. course, 3% of seats are reserved for the Physically Challenged/Handicapped quota.

Reservation of seats for Women: 33%of the seats shall be horizontally reserved in favor of women candidates from each category.

Original certificates to be produced at the time of counseling:

  • SSC Memorandum of Marks or Equivalent Examination Certificate, showing the evidence of the Date of Birth.
  • Pass Certificate cum Memorandum of Marks obtained by the applicant in the qualifying examination (Intermediate (10+2) or its Equivalent Examination).
  • Telangana State EAMCET-2021 Rank Card.
  • Bonafide / Study Certificate from 6th to 12th Class.
  • Transfer Certificate.
  • Residential Certificate.
  • The latest certified copy of the Social Status Certificate issued by the competent authority of Telangana State in case of applicants belonging to Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes.
  • The latest certified copy (on or after 01-01-2021) of the EWS Certificate issued by the competent authority in case of applicants belonging to EWS.
  • Non-Municipal Area Study Certificate (ANNEXURE-I).
  • Agricultural Land Holding Certificate (ANNEXURE-II).
  • The latest certified copy (on or after 01-01-2021) Physically Challenged Certificate.
  • Children of Armed Personnel Certificate / Defence Personnel Certificate.
  • National Cadet Corps (NCC) Certificate.
  • Sports and Games Certificates along with Form I, II, III & IV (whichever is applicable) are mandatory for claiming a seat under the SPORTS quota.
