Bihar Veterinary College, Patna, the 5th oldest Veterinary College in undivided India was founded on 2nd April 1927 by Sir Henry Wheeler, the then Governor of Bihar & Orissa.  Bihar Veterinary College, Patna, for a long time, provided quality Veterinary education and training not only to candidates from Bihar and Orissa but also from several other states (U.P., Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Himachal Pradesh etc.) of the country as well as from developing countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Iran, Malaysia, etc. Graduates of this college are spread all over the world and have occupied coveted and prestigious positions in State and Central Governments, State Agricultural Universities, Research Institutes, and National as well as Multinational Industries. Under the provisions made through enforcement of the Bihar Agricultural University Act (1971), the Bihar Veterinary College, Patna became one of the pioneer constituent colleges of Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa, Bihar in 1971, and altogether 14 departments of this college started functioning under Agricultural University System.

Admission Process

Bihar Veterinary College Veterinary Counseling is conducted by

1 ) Veterinary Council of India (VCI) - Open to all (15%)

The  Veterinary Council of India (VCI) conducts Counseling for allotment of B.V.Sc. & A.H. seats to the NEET UG eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Veterinary Colleges of the country. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by National TestingAgency (NTA) including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The  Veterinary Council of India will use the merit list of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG)-2022 (NEET (UG)-2022) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for filling up 15% of seats in the recognized Veterinary Colleges under the All India Quota. Other criteria of selection and admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree course shall be as per Veterinary Council of India - MSVE, Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Regulations, 2016.

RESERVATION OF SEATS  (15% Quota 

  • 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates
  • 7.5% of seats are reserved for ST candidates
  • 10% of seats are reserved for EWS candidates
  • 27% of seats are reserved for OBC candidates (Non-Creamy Layer)
  • 5% seats in each category are reserved for Physically Handicapped candidates as defined in physical disability in the MSVE -Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Regulations, 2016 on a horizontal basis.

Counseling for Allotment of 15% VCI Seats

The online counseling for allotment of 15% VCI seats for the academic year 2022-23 will be held in four stages [ Round -1, Round -2, Mop-up Round, and Stray Round]. The counseling will be done based on NEET (UG) 

2022-23 ranking and through the VCI Counseling portal. All banking-related matters will be dealt  by the Bank of Baroda. The seat will be allotted in the colleges based on the availability of seats, his/her NEET Rank, and the choice exercised by the candidates subject to fulfillment of other criteria viz. nationality, age, essential qualification, etc. as laid down in this Information Bulletin. Note: The candidate who has been allotted a seat in Round -1 but has not reported for admission at the allotted college shall not be allowed to participate in further rounds of counseling.

Registration and payment of Fees (Only for the fresh candidates who have neither registered nor paid registration fees in Round -1). 

The candidates registered in Round -1 with payment of fees need not have to register separately for Round -2)

Note:

All the candidates, who desire to take admitted to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree program at Bihar Veterinary College, Patna, are advised to appear in NEET (UG)-2022 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) and shall visit BCECE  for counseling and further information for admission.
